Wanuskewin Heritage Park

Wanuskwein Heritage Park is a national historic site that explores the cultural heritage of the First Nations People. Surrounded by a picturesque valley and view of the South Saskatchewan River, the park holds one of the largest archaeological research projects in Canada with over 20 sites disovered to date.On-going excavations have revealed evidence of habitation dating back 6,000 years.

An interpretive visitors' center features multi-media displays, cultural artifacts, demonstrations, a restaurant and a gift shop. Self-guided trails lead visitors to such scenes as a medicine wheel, tipi rings and buffalo pound. Wanuskewin has been in operation for the last ten years.

The Bessborough Hotel

The Bessborough Hotel is one of Saskatoon's most famous and best-loved landmarks. The newly-restored "castle" stands on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River and is surrounded by 5 kilometres of park grounds. The Bessborough is both a heritage site and a first-class hotel, a resort in the heart of the city.

The Bessborough began as a CN Hotel, with construction beginning in the 1920's and temporarily stalling during the depression. The hotel officially opened on December 10th, 1935.
